Diverse Voices Network Snapshot Reports

We bring together different voices and perspectives to inspire action and give our community unique viewpoints on the issues that matter.

We are actively growing our ecosystem of Diverse Voices to give us wider reach into every space of food, from the world of academia, farming, science, business, campaigning and leadership.

Just released! The March BIG QUESTION:

“How can we accelerate consumer adoption of diverse protein sources for a healthier, more sustainable food system?”

Protein is one of the most critical, complex and commercially significant challenges in our food system. However, the way we produce and consume it today is not sustainable. Overconsumption harms health, intensive production impacts the natural environment and alternatives remain out of reach for many.

We know that shifting towards more diverse protein sources is essential for creating a sustainable and nutritious food system - but are we ready for it? If so, how do we do it?

Whether you’re in meat, dairy, plant-based, fermentation, or anything in between, the way the sector evolves will shape the future of food.

Together, we need urgent transformative action to reshape protein production and consumption.

The BIG QUESTION in January was:

“WHAT KEY CHANGES DO YOU WANT TO SEE IN 2025?”

The challenges shaping the future of our planet and our plates - climate and health - demand urgent action. These two critical issues are deeply interconnected: what’s good for the planet is often good for our health, and transforming the way we produce and consume food is central to tackling both.

At Future Food Movement, we pride ourselves on being optimistic, but we also recognise the urgency of our mission. 2024 was officially the warmest year on record globally (here) - a stark reminder of why we’re here. With the UK’s National Food Strategy pushing for bold transformation, the question we must equip ourselves to rise to the challenge.

The food industry holds the power to lead this change, and Future Food Movement (FFM) members are at the forefront of this transformation. We’re committed to exploring bold ideas and actions with our network of leaders and changemakers.

There’s no doubt that we need to make big changes this year. Let’s hear what farmers, trailblazers, experts, young people, businesses and citizens have to say…
